Clay Day 6

Clay day 6! That means I'm nearly a quarter of the way through the 28 day challenge... which I'm not doing in case something goes wrong and prevents me from doing it!! Yay!

And I've finally finished Mr Squirrel (I think), although I'm thinking about sitting him on top of a log of wood, covered in ivy and flowers and that sort of thing. What do you think? Log or no log?

He still has paper supporting his tail until it dries. Of course you already knew that, I just thought I would explain in case you thought it was a big fur ball or something!

Are his eyes too high? I keep thinking he looks like a rat! And what do you think to the fur effect on the tail?

Now I just need my own personal masseur to give me a neck and shoulder massage every day! I'm having fun but it's hard work you know!
"Scott!!"

I think the tail is awesome! You have the idea I think (and I know nothing about clay). Squirrels do look a little like rats so I think his face is fine. Rats may have longer noses but otherwise...I can't wait to see him fired. FOrget the log and fire him!

I agree with Kathy, no log required. He's adorable!

Oh, thank you Kathy! My niece Sophie said the same thing - that I should leave him without the log. I'm glad you like him :) Thank you!

tail looks great, the whole thing does. definitely can tell it's a squirrel. not sure about the log, would have to see it, but i'm thinking leave him be. you're pretty good at the sculpting thing, i did it for years but was less realistic and more caricature (sp?) like.

Thank you Kim! I'd love to see some of your sculptures. I love the way Leanne creates things with her own style as well. As for me, I just (try to) copy what I see. I suppose I don't really have the experience or imagination to make animals in a style of my own. I admire those who can!
